CIDT, FPA to Discuss Muslim-Christian Relations Following Pope Shenouda's Death
The Center for Inetercultural Dialogue and Translation and the Foreign Press Association invite you to a discussion of the future of Muslim-Christian relations in Egypt following the death of Pope Shenouda III

CAIRO, Egypt (AWR) – Even before Pope Shenouda's death, Egypt was facing a time of unprecedented transition. In the next several months, Egypt will likely have a new president, a new constitution - and now, a new pope.
Pope Shenouda's untimely death makes it all the more important for his succesor to be someone who can successfully unite Egypt's Christian and Muslim communities during this sensitive time of change.
The Arab West Report and the Foreign Press Association (FPA) cordially invite you to attend a press conference to discuss this topic at the FPA office in Garden City on Tuesday, March 27 at 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
The press conference will feature:
- Dr. Amin Makram Ebeid: Member of the prominent Makram Ebeid family, writer, member of the board for the Center for Arab-West Understanding
- Hany Labib: Coptic author and frequent commentator on Egyptian television, director of the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation, will speak about Egypt's election procedure and candidates for the papacy
- Drs. Cornelis Hulsman: former secretary-general of the FPA, specialist on Muslim-Christian relations in Egypt, has met with Pope Shenouda III over 20 times
- Jayson Casper: Researcher for Arab West Report, freelance journalist and blogger, will speak about the role of Copts abroad on Egypt's election process
