The central role of the "State of Israel" within Christian Zionist ideology leads to the conviction that "God blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who curse Israel," as well as the idea that "nations will stand or fall based on this one creed." The biblical term "Israel" is uncritically interpreted as referring to a modern secular state established through the colonization of Mandatory Palestine and takes a central role in Christian Zionism, to which its adherents express unwavering loyalty, raising the question of whether fidelity to Christ, his kingdom, and the message of the Gospel has become secondary in this framework. Christian Zionism applies the divine promises in Genesis 12, 15, and 17 to the modern "State of Israel" through this interpretation, as opposed to the Christian theological interpretation that is centered around the person of Jesus Christ, who fulfilled the divine promises through becoming "the new temple."
